Weather Summaries for Norwood Village
2000 - Present

Historical weather summary tables are available from 2000 to the present. My plan is to add monthly summaries at the beginning of the following month, and annual summaries in January of each year.

These summaries are in Acrobat (.pdf) format and require Acrobat or Acrobat Reader to view them. A free copy of Acrobat Reader can be downloaded from Adobe.

I believe that these summaries provide a reasonably accurate summary of the weather as recorded in Norwood Village of Bellevue, WA, but note my disclaimer below.

There are a few known problems with the historical data:

The most significant is that during the big wind storm December14-15 of 2006, we had an extended power outage. That resulted in a loss of data, so information about the storm is mostly not reflected in the affected tables.
Prior to that, the anemometer (wind speed sensor) failed in June of 2002, and wind speed data was lost through September of that year. As it happens, we get minimal wind in the summer around here (which was part of why it took so long to discover the problem), so the loss was not as significant as it would have been if the failure had occurred in another season.
The solar sensor failed on May 31, 2008. It was repaired June 26, 2008. These tables do not include solar data, however, so this loss is not reflected in the tables.
The anemometer (wind speed/direction) sensor failed 11/6, again 11/9-11/16, and then 11/20-27/09. Repair parts were backordered, but received and installed on Friday 11/27/09. The sensor is now back on line. Unfortunately, there were several significant wind events during times the sensor was off-line.
The sensor suite (except for anemometer) was moved the morning of 12/4/09 to a more suitable location. Rainfall of 0.12 in the result of handling the sensors rather than actual rainfall.
